Random Picture That Makes Me Happy

I took this photo about two years ago at a vintage flea market that I am obsessed with (more about that here) and I just stumbled upon it today. What is it about...:

1) ...everyday items that show signs of wear and tear...
2) ...like-items grouped together...
3) ...stuff in galvanized metal containers...

...that I cannot get enough of? I don't think I will ever tire of such visually stimulating scenarios.

  2. I adore this on so many levels! In addition to the things you listed, I see a story behind every pair of scissors - who they belonged to, how many times they might have gone missing, how the owner might have reacted when her sewing scissors were used on paper for a school project, where the owner might have hidden them so she could find a pair of scissors when she needed them. And then it brings to mind my own story - in that photo I see a pair of scissors just like a pair my grandma owned, and one like my mom owned, and one like the pair my mom gave me when I began learning how to sew, how much I wanted to try using a pair of those barber scissors on my Barbie dolls, and what a lousy job of cutting those round edged safety scissors did when I used them to cut out my paper dolls. Love, love, love this whole idea.
