I have a couple rules when buying things at antique stores, otherwise I will walk away with way too much:
1) I have to know exactly what I am going to use it for...
2) I have to know exactly where I am going to put it.
The above item does not follow either of these rules. I bought it about a month ago at a little antique shop about 30 miles South of Portland. It was barely visible on the back of a cluttered shelf. I don't actually even know why it caught my eye but there was something about it I liked, so I bought it.
As I paid for my item, I asked the lady running the shop if she knew what it was and she said no, she wasn't sure. Hmmmm...I am still curious. I am guessing it is some kind of churner or masher of sorts - but I don't know for sure. I would love to know exactly how this was used as I think it would make me appreciate it all that more.
Does anyone have any ideas?
