Life since my last post has been B-U-S-Y. I barely remember this last week and have spent most of my short weekend in a fog.
Last weekend my dear cousin Shawn got married which meant a lot of family - which I love. There is only a small group of my family here in Oregon, which means that big events bring everyone to town. I cherish these times since they are sometimes years apart. Every spare moment I had, I was over at my Dad's house visiting with everyone and taking it all in.
The wedding itself was stunning. I have a lot of photos to share, complete with some great decor ideas for future brides - but that will be in a few days. I simply don't have it in me at the moment.
One of the real joys of this last week was getting to spend time with this little one: Charlotte. She is my 2nd cousin and I adore her. She provided us all with endless entertainment. Why are kids the greatest things in the world?
The other aspect of last week that added to the craziness is that I stepped into a new role at work. It was a promotion that happened very quickly and is something that I am very excited about. I am going to be more involved in the day-to-day process of getting the film made, spending more time with the directors and on the studio floor. However, with my excitement comes nervousness, pressure and the fear of failing. I know that I will be fine, but I think that until I feel like I really have my head wrapped around this new job, I am going to feel stressed. Making a movie is an incredibly fast-paced and unconventional environment and it can easily consume you - my goal is to rock the position, but still keep perspective of my real life.
Hopefully this week will be smooth sailing. Whew. Wish me luck!
