My night

As I type this I am laying on my bed with my beloved MacBook. I am listening to old Dixie Chicks songs and just finished wrapping birthday gifts for my hubby. Dan is in the other room watching something on TV, but I know not what. Probably something to do with cars. In fact, most likely.

The sheets and duvet cover on my bed are white with a cream floral design. I want a bright, patterned duvet, but I just have not come across the right one. It is also hard for me to stray from neutral bedding. I don't know why. I think maybe neutrals relax me? I have to try something new soon though, otherwise I am ripe for a design rut. This is the truth.

Dan and I are packing tonight to go away for the weekend. We rented a little place near the coast and I am really excited. There is nothing in the world I love more than time with him. People often ask us if we get sick of each other since we are not only married, but work together as well. The truth is that after almost 4 years of working together, I cannot imagine it any other way. Being able to share my dream of working in film with this incredible man makes me feel beyond lucky.

I feel content. My life is good. We had to work late tonight and were so exhausted afterwards neither of us could be bothered to cook anything so we opted for pizza by the slice and a Corona each. I am not a big beer drinker, but it tastes so delicious with a slice of pizza.

Alright - I need to go pack now, but before I do, I want to leave you with a video of one of my favorite Dixie Chicks songs ever. When I am feeling stressed, I love to listen to it. Enjoy.

  1. Nice, especially since I can visualize every fabric and setting you are describing. Have fun at the beach

  2. Have a wonderful weekend!!! I finally got a chance to read all your logs. LOVE the bottles and old enamel bowl. You and I are SO alike. I can't even begin to tell you how much my mouth watered at your post about finding huckleberries. They are absolutely my favorite berry, fruit delight in the world. They don't grow around here and while blueberries and blackberries are abundant, they don't come close to a huckleberry.

  3. Hope you have a great weekend at the beach that's where we are headed too!

  4. Have a lovely weekend with your honey!
