Germany 4, England 1

When you are married to a man from England, chances are he is into football (soccer to us Americans).

If he is into football, chances are he is REALLY into football.

When he is really into football, chances are the World Cup takes over his life every 4 years.

When it takes over his life every 4 years, chances are England will play Germany.

When England plays Germany, one of their biggest rivalries, nothing is more important than winning.

When Germany beats England 4 - 1, chances are you will have a very sad Englishman on your hands.

And that is your lesson for today.

I would write more, but I have a defeated husband to attend to.

Keep your heads up, my English friends! You can do it in 2014!!!

  1. Dan... there are starving people in china!

  2. We have been watching the World Cup everyday at work. I have to mute it now... ;) Have a lovely week! xoxo

  3. We have alot of English friends at our local pub that we were consoling on Sunday. I hope Dan feels better soon! xxoo :)

  4. My hubby and our friend (from South Africa) are super soccer fans on our vacation they got up at 6 or 7 am to watch the games.

  5. Its still to soon.....

  6. Oh dear! Has he recovered yet?

  7. Poor Dan. I was sad for England too, if that's any consolation. I'm so far behind in reading blogs, I'm sure he's all better by now.

  8. Hi! I am an American too (Chilean) and my husband is English. Yes, very much into football, at least the world cup. We live in the Uk – Cambridge and there is no way you can escape from football while here. I am not a football person, though South Americans are one of the best players and lovers of this discipline. Personally, I love skiing but here in the UK, I find it very hard to practise. In Santiago, where I am from, the mountains are only 3 minutes away :D
