I was going to do a post about my entire Halloween night, but frankly, I'm just not feeling it, so I will do a quick little recap.
I went to a monster theme murder mystery dinner party that was being thrown by some co-workers of mine. I went as The Wicked Witch and it was a lot of fun. If you have never taken part in a murder mystery dinner, I suggest you do because it is the perfect opportunity for normal, functioning adults to act like children.
Before the party, however, my sister and I handed out candy to the neighborhood kids. I love seeing all the little ones all dressed up, so I made sure to stick around for that. And - can I just say that those who came to our place like, totally SCORED!!! We had full size Skittles, M&M's (regular and peanut), Starbursts and 3 Musketeers. I wish I had been a kid coming to my house on Halloween. The closer it got to us leaving, my sister started handing them out two at a time.
Pretty much full blown awsomeness for a kid and we enjoyed hearing their comments which were along the lines of, "Mom - I got a FULL skittles!!!"
Oh yes, kids do love candy and never have I heard this more perfectly verbalized than in the Jerry Seinfeld stand-up show he did in NYC a few years ago. And so, because I love you all, I will leave you with this clip of comic genius from one of my all-time favorites as he describes what Halloween was like for him as a kid. I hope that you all had a wonderful Halloween!
