If you don't let yourself daydream, you should.
Also, if you don't let yourself sing into your hairbrush, you should do that too - but that is a discussion for another time.
Today, as far as my daydreams go, they have been all over the place. As of 1:34pm Pacific time, I have daydreamed about:
1) Living In Bora Bora

2) Traveling to Bora Bora
3) Getting on a plane to Bora Bora tonight
3) Living in Dubai where there is a booming film industry and no income tax
4) Trying new food in Dubai
5) Wondering if food in Dubai is like Indian food
6) Eating Indian food everyday and how wonderful that would be
7) Winning the lottery
8) Setting up trust funds for everyone in my family with my lottery winnings
9) Going shopping with my lottery winnings

I would buy this dress first. I love this dress. Now I just want to talk about dresses, not stupid daydreams.
10) Opening up an antique store in the country with my lottery winnings that plays bluegrass music in the background and has sheep and goats wondering around in the backyard
11) Wondering what life would be if I looked like Sofia Vergara who plays Gloria in my new favorite show 'Modern Family'. She looks like this:

12) Buying my first house with Dan
13) Eating pumpkin pie
14) And, my favorite - selling all of my worldly possessions, hopping on a plane with Dan that is headed someplace exotic and exploring the world for a year.
Oh I love my daydreams. I need them. They feed me and keep me going and I am SO not kidding about that. Have you had any daydreams today? Where do you let your head go if it needs a break from everything? Any good daydreams today that you feel like sharing with the rest of the class?
Bueller? Bueller?
No, I call wanting to look like Sofia! I've had black hair before! That's where our similarities end...
ReplyDeleteI think it would be very ordinary to look like Sofia. I personally have no desire to be that gorgeous in every single way.
ReplyDeleteHahahaha!
I would loveee to open up an antique shop with bluegrass music!! and a book shop for that matter... and a nice homey arthouse coffee shop...
ReplyDeleteI often day dream that I'm in a movie... like in the actual scene.. which is kind of awkward when I start to talk to myself.
Just stumbled onto your blog, and this list made me smile! Great list, especially the dress!
ReplyDeleteIf you go.....NO WHEN YOU GO....to Bora Bora....I so want to come with you! I dream of going there too!
ReplyDeleteIn fact, I want to stay in those same little huts you have the photo of..... sighhhhhh
We pretty much have all the same daydreams! Speaking of pie...I might have to make some this weekend...that is one thing I can do in my house! :) If I get a private jet this weekend I would like to go to Bora Bora too.
ReplyDeleteJocelyn,
ReplyDeleteThanks for your sweet comment on my blog, and also for asking if all is well. I'm fine, but saddened to lose such a wonderful friend and flutist.
I also loved reading about all your daydreams. sounds like we're kindred spirits.
Beth
I day dream all the time. Sometimes they are so intense they're like hallucinations. It can be awkward.
ReplyDeleteI was on the back of Jax's harley from Sons of Anarchy. And motorcycles terrify me. Ah ha ha
ReplyDeleteDaydreams are the best....!! My Living In A Dream Series on my blog is a daydream of mine, the travel part...plus a bookshop/coffee shop/gift shop - small version of Barnes and Noble...love your list! Happy Weekend!
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to say thank you so much for not only coming by my blog but for becoming a follower. Writing my cancer story has been a bit difficult but rewarding at the same time, if that makes sense. I started writing to help or comfort others but with every person I have follow, read and comment it becomes a huge blessing to me. Your comment meant a lot to me and I just wanted you to know that.. I was going to send you an email to tell you this but couldn't find one for you!
ReplyDeleteit's ok though, it gave me a chance to day dream about bora bora again!
You made my day! Thanks!
